Happy Halloween

As requested, Oliver got to be Twilight Sparkle and Hazel was his side kick Spike.  Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack were an added bonus.  It was all worth it just to see the huge smile of Oliver's face when he saw his costume.

 Trick or Treating with our new neighbor Stacy and her son Oliver (Olie) and baby Sam.

Hazel is 20 months!

 Today is Hazel's 20 month birthday!.  It's hard to imagine that in four short months she will be a 2yr old!  Yesterday we took her to the Dr. for her 15 month check up... ahem...just five months behind schedule.
Here are the stats:
Height:  2' 9.25"  75th percentile
Weight:  25 lbs 1.5 oz  50th percentile
Shopping for goodies in the garden
 I guess at some point the bubba is going to have to go away, but how can I say no to this face... even with mud caked on it.
I am so blessed to have Miss Hazel in my life.  It's strange that I have only had her for 20 months.  It's hard to imagine life without her, I feel like God sent her to me just to put a smile on my face every day.  Seriously, this girl cracks me up!

Let the festivities begin!

 On Saturday we took the kids up to Cedarburg for our first annual pumpkin pick.  They had a blast (even if we paid an outrageous amount for those pumpkins).
 Hazel wanted to touch each pumpkin individually...
 ...while Oliver just wanted to run around like crazy!

Idaho Vacation {part 2}

 As I promised, more cute picture from vacation!

 A day of golf with some of my favorite people.  Beautiful weather and great company.
 This is what happens when you go to a place like Chucky Cheese and let your kids soak up other kids pukie germs.  They pass it right on to you.  Poor Matt looked like death and had to miss standing up in his best friends wedding.  I got to experience the projectile vomiting the next day in between flights on our way back to Milwaukee.
Right after we got back from vacation Oliver had his first day of school!!!
 He helped me pick out his back pack
I don't know how he got so big!

Project Halloween

A conversation with Oliver.
Me:  Hey Oliver, what do you want to be for Halloween?
Oliver:  How about a toilet?
Me:  Absolutely not.
Oliver:  Ooooo how about Twilight Sparkle! and Hazel can be....Spike!

Me:  Oh crap.  You sure you don't want to be a toilet?

I have tried to talk him out of being a giant purple pony but he is really sure it's what he wants.  So, I have spent countless hours trying to find him something to where for Halloween that does not involve a fluffy skirt and ribbons (I have my limits).  Wish me luck!

Idaho Vacation {part 1}

 Here is a little reminder of just how much our kiddos have grown in one years time!  The picture above is from 2011, below is 2012.  I am so grateful that we got to spend two whole weeks with the Wheatley Clan in Idaho this year!
Many many more picture to follow!

Happy Happy Birthday Mommy Dear!

Four years ago when I embarked upon a mission to learn how to sew, these were the very first blocks I made.  They are a little crooked and looking at them gives me a headache but they hold great sentimental value to me.  I couldn't think of a better gift to give my mother for her birthday than to make them into a quilt.  Every time she looks at these wobbly mismatched blocks, hopefully she will think of me and know how much I love her, just the way she is.
Oliver gave his contribution to the present by repeatedly hugging the quilt and asking when he could give it to Grandma Nana.  (He always loves a new pretty).
P.S. Mom, I hope you know that I resisted the urge to sew the blocks onto plain white sashing.  The blue is just for you lol.
