Pitcher Family 2012

 My Grandpa Pitcher passed away peacefully at the age of 92 this last week.  While he will definitely be missed, his passing gave his grand kids motivation to hop on a few planes and see each other for the first time in 7 years.  The last time we were all in a photo like this was my wedding!

Birthday Cupcakes

 I forgot to post these with the rest of the Birthday pictures but they were too cute to not post.  It cracks me us how different Oliver and Hazel are even though they look like little twins.  Oliver is very particular and clean.  Hazel... not so much.  She is our tornado.

Oliver was so disturbed by Hazel's messiness he ended up asking for a bowl and a spoon to eat his cup cake with!  My kids are just too funny.  Happy Birthday Oliver and Hazel!

Baby Stats

Oliver and Hazel had their annual wellness exams this week and it looks like they are growing like weeds. 

Here are the stats for Oliver:

Weight:  32 lbs

Height:  3' 1.5"

50th percentile for both.

Miss Hazel's stats:

Weight:  20 lbs 12 oz

Height:  2' 5.5"

She is also in the 50th percentile for both. 

We went to Picture People to get pictures taken for her first birthday.  I have to say they are pretty darn cute.

Birthday Brunch Bash!

 Yesterday we hosted a birthday brunch in honor of Oliver turning three and Hazel turning one. I can't believe my babies aren't babies any more!  I feel so incredibly blessed to have such amazing kids and awesome friends to celebrate with.

Hazel tried her best to stay awake but ended up crashing.  Poor thing.  She has had a long week.

Thrifty Thursday

Miss Hazel has officially graduated to a big girl car seat (and it's awfully cute if I say so myself).  I decided to spend the extra money to get a Britax because the Evenflo we got for Oliver drives me CRAZY!  While it does have awesome safety ratings and I like the fabric, the straps are constantly twisting.  If it had a neck I would strangle it and leave it on the side of a dirt road.  Seriously, I hate that thing.  (Sorry for recommending it Amy.  I didn't realize you could even purchase a car seat that didn't twist, so I didn't realize how much I hated it until about 10 minutes ago when I put Hazel in the Britax.)  

Anyhoo... I found an awesome deal at Baby Earth.  I'm not usually one to give a shout out to a company but I did get a great deal so I thought I would pass it along.  After coupons it came to $149 even.  No tax, no shipping! 

Happy Birthday Oliver!

  I decided to have a little impromptu pizza party for Oliver on his birthday (the real party is in two weeks but I felt bad not having something special on the actual day of his birth).  We had his best friend Drake over for the festivities.  The kids really were having fun regardless of what their little faces look like in the picture.

A birthday conversation

I went to wake Oliver up this morning and here is the conversation that we had:

Me:  "Happy Birtrhday Oliver!"
Oliver: "It's my Birthday?  I want Bash Bash and Furry Hands!!!!"  (Translation:  Bash, Dash and Ferdinand.  These are Thomas the Train characters).
Me:  "Ummmm.... I hope you don't get Furry Hands for your Birthday that would be grose.  What else would you like?"  
Oliver:  "Banana pancakes on my plate and Scruff!!!  It my Birthdaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy!!!"
Me:  "Sure thing little man".

Today my little man is 3 and cuter than ever.  I am in love with his quirky little personality.  Every day is a new adventure and a joy.  I love you Oliver!

My Little Clemintine

 I have come to the conclusion that Hazel will eat anything!  (Dog food, toilet paper, dryer sheets ect.).  Today I let her play with a Clementine thinking it would be a fun new toy to roll around or throw at the dog.  Instead she started chowing down on it.  Peel and all.  She is such a little sassy pants!

Deal of the Day

The other day Matt and I had a lovely Saturday outing to the Mall.  While he was looking at a new phone I strolled into Pottery Barn and came across a deal I could not pass up.  A $130.00 Duvet for only $30!!!  The only catch... it was a California King.  As you can see we have a queen size bed.  I purchased it anyway and showed Matt my steal.  He was clearly puzzled as to why I would buy a duvet that would not fit so I explained that I planned to do a little chop chop and stitch.  Although he was a little apprehensive the project turned out better than I could have planned.  With the left over fabric I was able to make two shams and... 

....a toss pillow for my reading chair!  Zero fabric left over, not one inch!  I might have to make this a yearly tradition.  Thanks Pottery Barn for the most awesome deal of the day ever!
